The Community Care Planning Group started as a facebook group dedicated to connecting and plugging into various self-organizing groups, using Facebook infrastructure. Folks on the group currently range from throughout several NY State counties including Columbia County.

We have WORKING GROUPS (purpose and topics of interest--for everyone from the bigger region of the Hudson Valley) and COMMUNITY PODS (smaller geographical units) WORKING GROUPS help organize and generate actions, services + things, and are comprised of, serve, and connect and mobilize people from a variety of communities.  COMMUNITY PODS focus on a specific geographical location, to reach out and connect to your closest neighbors, determine your immediate community's needs and shareable resources, and best modes of distribution.

Here are some of the working group projects the Community Care Planning Project has been working on:

Sewists and Cutters have teamed up to sew cloth face coverings for donation to those in need. Drivers transport materials.  This amazing group of people have had a huge impact on our community. As of May 15th, 2020, 2000 cloth face masks have been donated to neighbors in need, homeless shelters, retail store workers, police departments, medical facilities to name a few. They have their own website. Check it out here.  There is also a Go Fund Me  check it out here.
